Oatmeal Bath

Oatmeal isn’t just for eating. It can be used topically for soothing dry, irritated skin. It’s great for calming inflammation, soothing burns (including sunburns), and calming down nerves. Oatmeal baths have been used for centuries as a way to bring out the gentle power of this plant.

Key Concepts: Oatmeal is great for skin and nerves.

Instructions

  • Place 1 cup of oats in a blender or coffee grinder and powder them.
  • Fill the bathtub with comfortably warm water.
  • Add the powdered oatmeal and stir it up with your hand. The water should feel slick and smooth.
  • Soak as desired. 10-20 minutes is fine.
  • Optional: Rinse off with, clean lukewarm water.
  • Towel off and conquer the day. Maybe get dressed too, but I guess that’s up to you.
