Homework:

Assignment 1: Review the breed association and document links in the resource list to identify the breeds that are best suited for your needs, environment, and interests. Once you narrow down your selection to a few breeds, then do your own deeper research to choose your final breed(s) and locate possible sellers near you. Also, make sure you have a clear idea of what a healthy goat looks like for your breed and the age of goat you’ll be buying.

Assignment 2: Review the health resource links to get a better understanding of CAE, Body Condition Scoring, and get an idea of how to identify parasite signs and symptoms.

Optional Assignment 1: I gave you a bit of a tour of my herd throughout the course of this episode.  Did you happen to spot the seriously overweight goat in this episode? How about the goat with a foot injury?

If not, scan back through starting at about the 13.5-minute marker and see if you can figure it out. I’ll reveal the answers in Episode 3.

Optional Assignment 2: Order your goat reference books.
